As a soloist on a perpetual quest for new music, Brittany Hendricks maintains an active schedule as a recitalist and chamber performer. Recent solo performances include a half-recital at the 2017 International Women’s Brass Conference, a performance on the first annual Music By Women festival in Columbus, Mississippi, and a performance of “The Trumpet Shall Sound” from Handel’s Messiah with the Masterworks Chorale of Muncie, Indiana. In June of 2017, she will give the world premiere of Howard Buss’s Serendipity Suite alongside trombonist Bruce Faske and pianist Topher Ruggiero at the 2017 International Trombone Festival.

Dr. Hendricks’s recital programs frequently push the boundaries of convention. In 2016, she toured with a program featuring contemporary compositions for soprano trumpet, which utilized only E-flat and piccolo instruments. The following year, she presented a full program of works for unaccompanied trumpet, only one of which also included electronics. Future projects include an exploration of folksong and the commission of a major concerto for trumpet and wind ensemble (check back for updates!).
